Name: Sarathai
Race: Human
Age: 28
Appearance/Personality: Sarathai appears as a priest in his prime. He has a somewhat muscular build, though is nowhere near as strong as one of the trained warriors of the realm, who take years developing their skills. His head is shaved and he wears rather plain robes most of the time, preferring to distribute what valuable possessions he comes across to those who can use them more. The only truly important possessions that he refuses to be without are the holy symbol strung around his neck and the heavy mace strapped to his side. As by his god’s will, he prefers to help and heal where possible.
History: Sarathai was introduced to the religion of Avaren from a very young age and never found reason to question it for most of his life. Living comfortably, he never really needed to pay much attention to the struggle of politics and poverty that were constant in other parts of the nation. It wasn’t until war with the mages of Aesir began to heat up that he, possessing the power to heal the wounds of others, was forced from the sanctuary of his temple to actually go out and see firsthand the problems occurring in Avaren.
It was at this time that he became disillusioned with the church of Avaren, blaming it and the head priest for much of the suffering of the people. To him, everything seemed like it could be easily avoidable and resolved quite peacefully. It was then that he discovered another god, a god of strength and healing. Turning from the church of Avaren, he accepted Pelor as the true god who could, if any, bring peace to the land.
