I am thinking about maybe starting a guild, if there is enough interest.
It would be called the Nightwalker's Guild
Basically, it would be a guild for wanderers, thieves, assassins, and any other characters that live that kind of lifestyle, to come together as a loose organization with a code of honor (ish) (more on that below) in reality, anyone would be allowed to join, but use common sense. This is not a group for faithfuls, and if your character is a champion of Avaren, they probably wouldn't fit in, seeing as we would be making mischief all the time. (we'd be thieves, what do you expect?)
As a member, you would enjoy the benefits of having a group behind your back in a fight, a haven (of sorts) from the law, and there would be training programs and job opportunities.
For instance, there would probably be a list of bounties wanted from the government, a list of bounties wanted for personal reasons, a list of missions ranging from escorting someone to helping control an unruly crowd, decimating a pack of savage wild animals for the local villages' safety to ... the list is endless, and over half of it is "dirty work"
Also, as a thief, you would have a "guild name" and your standings in the guild would be based on your ability and your loyalty to the guild.
Loyalty to the Guild[/b]
This means that you have to complete at least one assignment each month, and that if you are called upon to help defend a fellow member, the Guildhall, or even the city itself. if you choose to do the bare minimum for the guild, or if you fail to show up without explaining yourself VIA PM, then the "good" missions would not be offered to you.
-"good" missions are missions that pay very well, or would allow you to gain something in return. _gotta check w/ the admin on that bit...[/size]
The code of honor would be a set of behavioral suggestions, ones that would benefit those looking to work frequently.
The missions could range from something that an actual character on the site requests to something that an npc townsperson requests. For the sake of Rping, all missions would require two members. Of course, this means that the tougher missions would require more than two guildmembers to team up and work together.
A mission would probably read like so:
- There is a _(insert vicious wild animal here)_ prowling the countryside, and it is scaring the villagers out of their wits. we need someone to come in and take care of it. Reward: X# gold/ any trophies found while searching. (or something ).
this mission would probably entail a member to go out to the town, talk a bit with the towns people, and then either being joined by a brave townsperson who'd show them to the lair of the creature, or they would have to roam for a bit to find it themselves.
!!!
If the rewards as gold doesn't work,(which it probably wont) then we'll have to have an item- based reward system, either the person who made the mission would describe the reward, like a weapon or something, or the guild would give you the reward upon return.
Of course, it needs a lot of help, and i still need to ask permission. (btw- i have enough gold to do it)
While i do all of that, if anyone thinks they would like to join, they could post here and say so.
Even better, if there are suggestions to add to the idea and criticisms, that would be cool too!
This has potential to be fun...
