Horu hadn't been in the city of avaren all that long but he had learned the lay of the land. So, he knew his way around,. But he hadn't gotten to know many of the people. Horu was a faithful Paladin of Bahamut. Odd though it would seem for a human to worship a Draconic god, he was faithful. He had come here looking for a little adventure. He had yet to cross any evil dragon and he had yet to find a cause worthy of his attention.
He was bored, he sat in one of the many benches in front of the alter in the Chapel. He had nothing to do and was praying since there was nothing else to do. It wasn't an important prayer just a sort of mediation to pass the time. Not like there was anyone to talk to.

So, this was a chapel. Moresina didn't have her followers build chapels; she had them build brothels. Still, as a priestess of Moresina, Morrigan was obligated to visit the place of worship of any local deity in any land she came across. Morrigan was still a new priestess. She had been sent by her order to investigate Avaren. So far, the whole place seemed strange, but she'd been raised her whole life by her order, so who was she to judge what was normal.
Looking around, she saw a human man. She gave him a little sideways glance with a half-smile. Of course, besides visiting other deity, the priestesses of Moresina had few other obligations. For one, they were obligated to show as much skin as was practical as to give others the pleasure of seeing their obligatorily beautiful bodies. Of course, this was not to say they went around wearing nothing. That's where the 'practical' came into the occasion. They were to be provocatively, yet appropriately, dressed.
Currently, Morrigan was still in her traveling clothes. Her long black curls were woven into a single plait that coursed down her back. Her cream colored top bared her midriff, arms, some cleavage, and most of her back. Her skin was a fine tan color Her pants were skintight leather, a brown color that was only just a shade darker than her skin. She wore low-heeled boots that rose to her knees; they were the same color as her pants. Around her neck was a golden chain from which hung the symbol of the Goddess, a golden peach.

He heard foot steps echoing through the chapel. He opened his, eye and looked up to see who was visiting. He liked what he saw. Yes he was suppose to be noble, and conservative. However he was suddenly glad he hadn't taken any oaths that forbade him for having 'relationships' He was wearing his usual uniform, a platinum suit of what looked like scale-mail that was awarded to him by Bahmut himself. Well sort of given, he had first had to remove the scales from the hide of a red dragon he had slain. And then craft the hide into armor. It was after all this that Bahamut blessed the armor to be the same color as his own hide.
Speaking deities he wondered who this lovely creature worshiped. He forced the not so clean thoughts to the back of his mind. He would keep those thoughts controlled for now. He stood up and turned to her, giving a monk-like bow greeting her. "Good day to you ma,am." He said politely. This chapel wasn't exactly to his deity, and in fact he had yet to learn exactly who's honor this place of worship was built in. Still being the paladin that he was he still obligated to greet her into the temple.
He began to wonder why a woman of this... quality, dressed as she was, would be visiting a temple. So he asked her, "What brings you here?"

A young woman walked into the chapel. She was dressed as a maidservant, wearing a dark dress with a white apron. She carried a large, reflective scythe, gripped near the blade as though the top of a walking stick. Quite obviously, it was a weapon of battle, unlike most scythes, but just as obvious was that she was not ready to use it. She saw a man sitting in his place, seemingly praying. It was as normal, but the chapel had yet to be filled with followers of Lord Vidar. As of late, though, the church had been seeing fewer and fewer visitors. Perhaps the masses grew less faithful, although she could not fathom why. Then the girl, Tori Shiroishi, noticed a young woman. The woman was dressed oddly, and wore a strange symbol on her neck. What was this peach supposed to mean? Was she a member of a peach orchard owner's guild? Those clothes seemed rather... odd. Either way, this new woman bothered her. Maybe she should hold conversation with this new face. Either way, these two were the only others, and she wasn't about to let them get away from a conversation about the glorious god of Avaren.
"May I help you both?" She asked the two as they stood there, beginning their own conversation. "I am but a humble servant of our god, but I may be of service still, as you are here in our church. What brings you here before our god, travelers?" Indeed, she could at least tell that this paladin did not come from around here, at least she did not recognize him, and the woman before her looked as though she had just arrived, for though strange, there was no mistaking clothes meant for travel.

As she guessed she would, Morrigan had garnered the attention of the young man. however, before she could do more than smile at him, the apparent priestess or whatever of the chapel appeared. She was wearing the outfit of a cleaning woman or servant, but perhaps her god also had edicts about the way she dressed. Oh well, she could talk to the young man alone later, at least now she'd be able to fulfill her mission.
She smiled politely at the maid. "Hello. I am Morrigan Nephthys, Priestess of the Goddess Moresina, who extends her greetings to the land of Avaren. As a priestess it is my responsibility to learn about the gods of foreign lands. Pray tell, what is the name of your god?"

Tori shifted her grip lower down onto her scythe, and brought it up. Her other hand grabbed the handle as well. This woman was not one to be in Avaren's chapel. Certainly, she held no power under the law to attack those heretics outside the chapel, but here she was foremost a servant and warrior to Avaren's god. "Our god is our god. Our god is the god. Leave, heretic, or you will feel my blade." She pulled her scythe up, and swung it at Morrigan, as it was her duty to cleanse this chapel of impurities that may try to force their way in.

Horu turned and gave a slight bow to the no arrival as well. She seemed pleasant enough, at first glance anyway. It was odd that she would bring a weapon into a place of sanctuary. But then he was wearing his armor, but that was customary.and he had brought his own sword as well. The Sheathed weapon was hanging from the belt at his left hip. He was a paladin after all. He may not worship te same god as this church but he would fight to defend the honor of this god no less that The platinum dragon. Bahamut would come first of course but people of faith needed to stick together. After all there was more than one god...
The situation suddenly turned sour however. The visiting woman was politely asking the other about who she worshiped and upon discovering that the unarmed traveler worshiped a different deity, pulled out her weapon. and swung threateningly at the harmless girl. This, was something that the paladin was not going to stand for he suddenly realized he was not in the peaceful situation that he thought he was in... was this why he had been guided here? Was he to defend the people from a violent god and it's followers? He didn't know but for now he would go with what he thought was right.
His hand went to his sword, he did not pull itout however, he merely checked that it was clear in its scabbard, making sure it was at the ready for a swift draw and defend if he needed. "It would seem that your god doesn't value the attention of others. He sends his servant to harm any who would come to pay there respects. If that is so I take my leave." He said to the one with the weapon. A serious expression on his face.
He turned to the other, more attractive woman, "I am sorry that we are meeting under such circumstances Miss Morrigan. Let us leave and leave this god alone, we wouldn't want to pay unwanted respect to it." He said. "I worship Bahamut, and he doesn't mind me befriending others. Maybe a tavern would be more kind to us." He said with a polite smile. He prayed that the armed woman would go for diplomacy before violence. but this dragon had teeth. If threatened he would bite.

Morrigan was surprised to find the business end of the woman's sythe pointed at her. How odd. Was this how they treated people who inquired about their god? How would a god like that ever gain followers? In any case, as soon as she saw the scythe pointed at her, Morrigan slowly and caustiously began to back towards the entrance, her hands raised in a sign of non-aggression.
"I meant no harm or offence, mistress of the god of Avaren. I offer my humblest and most sincere apologies if my honest question caused any insult." She ceased talking at that point, since anything further would likely only irritate the already irate woman, and do naught but debase Morrigan, and therefore Moresina. Besides which, the handsome young man was talking, and Morrigan had no desire to anger him as well by interrupting.
She nervously plucked at her golden necklace. "Yes, good paladin, let us take leave. I would not offend this good wman futher." And with that, she slowly edged out of the chapel. It seemed she'd have to get her information about Avaren's god elsewhere. At the rate this was going, she'd be on this quest forever.
