History
His mother and farther where wonderful people, and the union of one race to the other was out of love. But that's not how the church saw it. According to them a man marrying an elf, was as bad as a man marrying a dog. It was just not done. Though the elves were ancient, his mother was nearly two centuries old her self, and wise among most species, were too proud to support such a union. To them Humans where inferior, and violent. Wars amongst themselves sprouted like wild flowers and it was not befitting of an elven maiden to be bound to such brutes. And so his parents never married, yet their love was consummated.
Once, Malachy had been born the church was out raged. They stopped short of violence, as attacking a newborn was evil. To attack the innocent was beyond sin, and they didn't want to sully their churches reputation. After 16 years of ridicule the church started to take action. They accused his family of being heretics, and demanded that the abomination produced by their infernal lust be destroyed. In that 16 years however the boy had learned the way of the sword, and had earned the trust of the people. and it took four years to undermine that trust enough to make the actions that came next justifiable.
One night they sent a crusader, a Paladin as they are commonly called, to their home. His parents refused to give up their son. He was now grown, but having not been able to find a suitable home of his own still resided in theirs. that night Malachy had not been home, and buy he time he returned his home was naught, but ash and cinders. the bodies of his parents lay charred in the ruins.
And so alone he made his way to a new life, knowing that he would no longer be safe here.
