Iris Wilder
Nickname: Wild Iris
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Family:
Montgomery Wilder – Father
Agatha Wilder – Mother
Miranda Wilder – Daughter
Affiliations:
Alexander Bauer – Advisor
Lady Eliza – Former Queen of the guild (deceased)
Age: 32
Appearance:
Iris is a beautiful woman, and she knows it. She has long brown hair, with black eyes. Her skin is lightly tanned, and her body fit and shapely. She wears a black vest, cotton covered with felt. The vest is held together, just barely, by several short, gold-colored loops, wrapped around flashy buttons. She wears tight, full-length pants, black in color, made from a fine, strong cotton blend. She wears very expensive rings, one on each finger, with pure gemstones adorning each ring.
Personality:
Iris is a real trickster. She’s not above using naïve men to do her work for her, especially since she is quite capable of doing so. She uses subtlety and charm to worm her way out of many battles. She likes anything that involves fun and parties. She occasionally gets drunk, but don’t mistake it for her guard being let down. Because of her history, she doesn’t believe in the “myth” of nice parents, despite being one.
History:
When she was a young child, her parents treated her like she didn’t exist. The closest she ever received to parental love was the food they left her on a plate right inside of her room each day, until she turned twelve. Her father took an interest in her during her teenage years, and she put up with it. After all, at least he was paying attention to her. Half a year after she turned sixteen, however, events lead her to be rejected and thrown out of the village she was born in. She wandered around outside of civilized lands, until she collapsed from exhaustion. She was carried by a group of chivalrous thieves to a guild hideout, where she was invited into the guild, with death or imprisonment as the alternatives.
At the guild of thieves, she learned from the queen herself how to conceal and throw daggers. She learned techniques for combat using only daggers, and how to pick locks from everyone in the guild, and was sworn into secrecy about the location and existence of the guild, with death as the punishment for transgressors. It was at this guild that she bore a child, whom she named Miranda, after the great thief and founder of the guild. She took care of Miranda, almost to the point of spoiling her, until she reached the age of thirteen, at which point the queen of the thieves’ guild died. Iris was the favorite to become her successor, and so embarked on a journey to improve herself in the art of thievery. She left Miranda behind at the guild, telling the thieves to look after her and train her in the art of theft. This happened two years before her arrival in Avaren.
Likes:
Her guild
Her daughter, Miranda
Parties
Beer
Men who are easily manipulated
Dislikes:
Formal parties
Anything long and boring
Men who aren’t easily manipulated
Her parents
Weapons:
She carries a multitude of concealed daggers, some made for throwing, others for melee combat. On her back, across her waist is a short sword, even though she really doesn’t know how to use it well.
Strengths:
She’s good at lying, and has a very “shapely” body, which she uses to trick men. She’s good at concealing daggers in various parts of her clothing.
Weaknesses:
Other than using daggers, she isn’t really good at fighting.
Other:
Iris is known to swear things “by Miranda,” the founder of the thieves’ guild of Nauford. If she sees someone who she takes as not having a proper mother figure, she will take it upon herself to try and mother them, praising accomplishments, and chiding disregard for other people.
