Pets: A nightingale (Sunsoar), a Holstein Mare (Autumn) that is now deceased, and a poodle (Gwendolyn).
Appearance: Mira is around 5’5” tall, and is of an average/thin build. She has long, deep red hair that comes about halfway down her back, and has sparkling blue-gray eyes that sometimes change color slightly to match what she wears. Being raised in a noble family, Mira has fair, porcelain skin that has no calluses or scars since she’s led an easy life. She has her ears pierced twice on both ears, and has a bold smile and laugh that set her apart from other women of her status.
Likes: Mira loves a good conversation, and likes people who can make her laugh easily. She enjoys horseback riding, singing and dancing, and going to and holding parties. She also loves to go shopping and visit the stables. Once she tried fencing, but only managed to ruin one of her favorite outfits, so dropped the skill and didn’t try to learn it anymore, mainly because of her parent’s protesting.
Dislikes: Mira doesn’t like people who try to court her- which happens all too often. She also doesn’t like snotty people, and people who are mean or greedy. Crocheting isn’t her best area of expertise either, since she doesn’t have the patience.
Personality: Mira is nice and friendly, and has a good sense of humor. She’s always ready to laugh and smile and flirt- as long as the boy doesn’t show any signs of trying to court her. Her parents consider her bold since she isn’t shy or quiet at all, and will often go up and start conversations with complete strangers. She’s very protective, however, and if you attempt to harm her or one of her friends she’d rather take up a sword and fight you then do nothing, even though she knows nothing about sword craft.
Family: Mira’s father is Sir Lance Arthur Nightingale, who is a prominent warrior known around Avaren. Her mother is the Lady Elizabeth Jane Nightingale Ladson, daughter of a famous mage who died trying to bring the dead back to life, although she has kept that hidden from her family. Mira has an older brother by the name of Jason Damien Nightingale, who left home two years ago to make his own living.
History: A little over a year ago Mira was in an accident while riding her mare on a forest trail. The mare tripped when she stepped in a hidden pothole on the trail and fell, almost crushing Mira who was on her back. Mira survived with a broken leg and two crushed ribs. Those injuries healed well, but now Mira is afraid to get back on a horse, since she has the memory of her accident to haunt her.
Recently, Mira has begun to grown into the magi nature that has been suppressed her entire life. This was mainly promoted by meeting a young mage named Verdan on the shores of a lake one day. Mira has discovered since then that she can control the wild, raging spirit of elemental fire. She is also beginning to learn to control the more subtle and calm element of water, which speaks to her using a silvery, feminine voice.
Mira’s parents, in order to increase their wealth and prestige, betrothed their daughter to Lord Bryant, a horrible middle aged man. Truly in love with Verdan, Mira was given the chance to walk away from the altar and her wedding, and go with the mage to the floating city of Aesir. Her pride stood in the way, however, and Mira could not leave her obligations as a noblewoman.
On her wedding night, she lost control of her powers when Bryant attempted to consummate the marriage. The fire in the bedroom’s hearth exploded out, engulfing the husband of less than five hours, and killing him. Fleeing in terror through the window, Mira ran into Verdan who was walking in the streets below. Giving up his life in the escape from the burning house, law enforcement, and witch hunters, Mira was able to reach Aesir in safety. There, she became instated as a full mage.
