From someone who came here from FFU, I would have thought he'd learn what I do to threads that have specific people in parenthesis after the title. Invite only is teh nubsauce. <_<

Incorrect. I told him to do that so I knew which thread to look for. It was not invite only, only a regard with which to catch my attention or else the thread would go unread and largely unloved.
You don't want unloved orphan threads, do you?

Actually, unloved orphan threads are what you primarily seem to be good for. <_<

Unfortunately, not enough people have asked me to kill their parents yet.

You know, unless it has the word 'closed' in the parentheses the thread is considered open.

You know, there are no 'closed' or 'open' threads. Did I not make this clear on FFU? <_<

That's not what he's saying. He's saying that putting a person's name in parenthesis does not make a thread closed. Putting 'closed' in the title does.

What ^ said.
Also if their are neither closed or open threads. What kind of threads are we suppose to do then?

You misunderstand, Viktor, as you were not on FFU. When on FFU, where he came over from, this exact thing sparked a minor conflict that was soundly lanced before it was allowed to spiral into something bigger. (When Sparky, Jen and myself all argue a single point, no one can stand against us) Though it’s easy to claim the intent never existed, I can easily go grab a regular quote from a thread where someone had someone else’s name singled out in the title both to show what people consider that to mean and to elaborate on how Thanatos regards threads to be invite only.
Even better, here’s one from Thanatos:
Whether or not it was ‘open’ or ‘closed’ isn’t the problem, it’s the interpretation other people take of it. Since clearly people assume that someone being specifically designated in a thread title makes it a thread ‘closed’, then in a scenario where there are no such thing as ‘open’ or ‘closed’ threads it does little more than open the floodgate, wherein you get people making their silly little invite only threads all over. Which then, if left alone, gets to some point or another where someone will make an ‘invite only’ or ‘closed’ thread in a board in someone else’s home and then tells the person who lives there they can’t post.
In fact, my first quote was just such a scenario, where some couple went and started making out (or whatever they were doing….) in the Nymph’s forest and when a Nymph came and interrupted them they both started yelling at the person OOC.
Basic conclusion is that, whether or not you intended it as invite only, don’t start using connotation that commonly expresses just that idea. There’s nothing stopping you from doing ‘ctrl+C’ then ‘ctrl+V’ on the URL of the thread you want him to join in a PM. <_<
As for your question as to what kinds of threads you’re supposed to do…… Just do plain old ordinary threads. All are ‘open’, as we’ve been over time and time again on FFU. If you really really see it as essential that no one else post in a thread you make, then just make an OOC note in the beginning of your post politely asking people to refrain. The kind of people who would be rude enough to still post are the same kind who would crash an ‘invite only’ thread anyways, only then it probably wouldn’t start a site-wide flame war.

My arguement isn't that Thanatos is an idiot or not, and in my book people are guilty of that until proven innocent, but that closed threads won't cause the downfall of a site, the world, western civilization and that little mexican stand down the street that I really like.
In any case, the issue is resolved. Thank you Azzy for your quick and well-put response.
Now damn, I feel like ditchin'.
ps..."huggles"...? There's only one person I know who huggles and has the first initial k...and I haven't talked to her since I took a good long hiatus from online rp....
Could it be...?
