Tori was not often one to let things slide, but she had been forced to, by Avaren's current state laws, let two heathens leave the church unharmed. She couldn't stand the thought that they had been so close to her, yet she could not do a thing. They had walked, yes walked, out of the church that had been entrusted to her. It was insulting, but she knew it couldn't be helped. She would have to deal with her anger another way. She decided to 'train' some of the younger warriors.
She had found her way to the barracks quickly enough. Immediately, she issued a challenge to almost the entire barracks, showing the room a bag of gold she had on her. Almost the entire room rushed her at one. So much for chivalry. It didn't matter, though, as she quickly took care of the warriors that had jumped her immediately for the bag of gold. It seemed they were all just beginners. She was easily able to take care of them in one hit, leaving most of them laying on the ground, cradling their bruises.
But, somehow, Tori wasn't satisfied. She needed someone to REALLY challenge her...

The sound of metal grinding on stone filled the armory as Horu sharpened his sword. The armory he was in was attached to the local barracks. He needed to train himself and keep his weapon sharp for the battles that where sure to come now that that red dragon was among them. He lifted his sword from the whetstone and was checking the sharpness of his blade when he heard the clang of steel and muffled cries of defeat coming from the sparing field just outside.
Curious, he went to the door. Standing in the field was the priestess who had kicked him and Morrigan out of the chapel. She seemed to be looking for a worthy challenge, but she wasn't looking at him she was looking way at the moment. He hadn't even heard her offer gold as the sound of grinning steel interrupted that part. "Was that your best?" He asked mockingly.

Napeir stepped within the confounds of the barracks, his tail brushing against the ground as he marched forward into the crowd that was gathering around a broke out fight. Usually he stayed well away from the barracks, during the war he was the warriors main cause of trouble. The fight had caught his attention so he was curious to see who started it today. mostly he entered now because at the moment to every human eye he was a black cat with emerald green eyes. Stepping through the mass of legs he appeared in time to nearly get hit with a mans body as it was flung to the ground. Looking up at the person he was half shocked. though in Avaren he shouldn't be too surprised. A girl was beating all the men around her. Turning he saw another man walk up, his attitude almost the same as hers. What he didn't like was how he was caught up in the middle of the two of them. Slowly he stepped to the side, waiting for the battle to break out.

Tori was irritated. She'd seen the cat, but right now, she was more interested in the man that had just challenged her. He was one of those two. She was lucky, today, it seemed. The very man she had been angered at letting go was challenging her to a fight. Tori could have her fight. "You. It seems I'm lucky, today. I'm sure you are also lamenting that we couldn't fight, that day. Unless, of course, you're simply too scared to even try."
She was holding onto her weapon, but she wasn't about to attack him without first making sure he wanted to fight as much as she did. After all, if that was the case, she could fight without reservation. She didn't need to fear the law. After all, deaths happen in challenges like this all the time. She placed her other hand back on her scythe, and brought it up.
"Come on, if you think you can win." She smiled at him, almost mocking him for even thinking he could defeat her. She was prepared to block anything he might throw at her, but still it would be nice to give him the first hit.

Horu smirked at her goading, and then added his own, "No, now that i see what I would have been up against I'm glad we didn't fight. I'm not the sadistic type and shaming people infrom of their god is not my style." He said walking forward and lifting his sword. He wasn't really paying attention to the cat. If it got in the way it was the animals own funeral.
As for the woman that was looking for a challenge, Horu was more than ready to teach her some manners. He was paying his respect to her god, a god he didn't even worship and she saw it fit to call him a heathen and threaten him with a scythe. He would enjoy getting back at her. He was ready to fight and now he would wait for the first blow.

Tori brought her scythe to bear with little effort upon the man's shield. It was nothing more than a blow to wake him up, to make him fight. She wasn't going to put serious effort into fighting someone if they weren't about to fight seriously, themselves. Of course, she could eliminate him the easy way, through dirty tricks, but instead she chose to battle him openly. After all, who better to show that the god of Avaren was not to be trifled with than it's most faithful servant, aside from Lord Vidar himself? She muttered a prayer to Avaren's god, asking for the strength to tear apart this unholy blemish upon the face of the city. She stepped back, holding her scythe at the ready, waiting for him to try his own blows upon her. Now that she was warmed up, it was only a matter of time before he went down.

(ooc: I never said Horu had brought a shield to battle)
Horu's eyes showed that he wasn't about to back down. He watched her carefully. There was something about this fight that didn't seem quite right, and he thought he knew what it was. In reality he and Tori should be on the same side. The only thing segregating them was their differing faith's. They both preached the will of the light, and they both shared a common enemy, that dragon.
She moved in to strike and re reacted by raising his blade. he stepped to the side and turned to strike at the shaft of the scythe, right at the base of its blade at the handle. Maybe if he was lucky he's end the battle here by ruining the weapon of his opponent.
