Morrigan was anxious to be done with her quest.
She had been run out of the chapel yeasterday by some overzealous cleaning woman with a scythe. So, she'd decided to venture out to talk to the common folk today.
However, everyone seemed much too busy to talk to her, and she really didn't know the city all that well, having just arrived, and she feared she was lost. Of course, her encounter yesterday had taught her that this cty was no place to walk around unarmed, and so today a silver dagger hung from her belt
And, as she was still under the edict of her goddess to wear as little as was practical, her clothing consisted mainly of tight trousers that stopped just below her buttock, and a bandeau shirt that left little to the imagination. Her travelling boots were on her feet, since they were the sturdiest shoes she had. All her other shoes were better adapted to temple life than to walking around a strange city. Her jewellry had also been dispensed with, and her purse hidden. No need to tempt any thieves who might be lurking.
She tucked a strand of black hair behind her ear. This part of town gave her the creeps. She really wished she'd asked Horu to come with her, but feared that would have been selfish. Still, if she walked long enough, she'd find the way out again, right?

Ares saw the young woman walking alone in the alleyway. She wasn't very modestly dressed, either. He was happy to find such a pleasant target just walking along. He jumped down in front of the woman, smiling in a rather friendly manner, developed from his practice.
"Can I help you, young miss? Mein name ist Ares. I am a doctor, so to speak."
The drow smiled calmly and kindly, reaching into his visible cloak...

Oh, finally, someone who'd help her! Morrigan smiled broadly at Ares. "Oh thank you, sir! You are the first kind soul I've come upon today. Do you think you can get me back to the big inn by the city gates? That's where I'm staying, and I'm afraid I got lost."
Morrgan was happy to have found Ares. Much better than the wench at the church, that was for sure. She saw him reach into his cloak. Perhaps he had a map to give her? How generous of him. Morrigan leaned forward just a bit, and asked, "What're you doing?" in a sweetly curious voice.

"Medicines, mein friend, medicines," Ares stated calmly, pulling out several vials. He was a little low on what he had, and so he was going to make these count, "This one vorks vonders. I always keep a small supply handy."
He had pulled out several seemingly empty vials, waiting for the look of surprise on the woman's face. Laughing, he added, "They only look empty, young miss. They're really filled with a clear medicine. Ah, don't vorry. I'm not trying to sell it to you. I'll give you one for free, young miss. Ah, yes. Forgive mein lack of interest. It's really a bad habit of mine, rambling on about mein self. How about you. Your name, at least..."

She liked this Ares with his friendly demeanor and charming accent. She was a little surprised to se him pull out empty bottles, but then he explained about the clear medicine. He even offered her a free one. He really was a very nice guy.
His question jarred her back into her manners. Seriously, what was she thinking, one little quest, and she forgets all about courtesy? "My name is Morrigan, and I am a priestess of Moresina" She reached to the neck to finger her amulet, only to remember that she'd left it at the inn, with the rest of her jewellry.

Horu woke feeling rather happy that day with that lovely Priestess at his side, and head hoped he could show the new arrival around Avaren or at least show her what he knew, and maybe introduce her the his horse which he had at the town's stables. He would probably need to trop the Stable hand a coin any way so it wouldn't have been out of his way.
Unfortunately Morrigan had went out on her own before He could offer. He noticed that she had left her necklace and a few other things behind, probably to keep them out of the hands of thieves, for which he didn't blame her. He picked up her necklace to look at it and suddenly he was having a a frightening feeling that there was something wrong. Morrigan had told him that this was the symbol of her goddess. And he had a feeling that that goddess was trying to tell him something. He was a paladin and was use to such things. He could tell that this was a silent distress call, Morrigan was in danger.
He took the Necklace and her jewels and put them in an empty pouch at his side and after donning his sword he made his way out of the room and the tavern. He pulled out the Necklace and put it around his neck and pray to both his own god, Bahamat and her Goddess that he could find her, before it was too late.
(ooc: hope this wasn't too god-modeish)

Ares offered the girl choice of vials, holding them in his left hand. He then pulled at something seemingly not there and held it up to Morrigan. "Feel this. It is soft, no? It vas a gift from the Lady Eilistraee. A kind voman, she is. She told me to help those I might. Miss Morrigan, vas it? Vould you like a bodyguard in these alleys?"
He silently offered her to walk before him, smiling and bowing...

Well, he really was a kind gentleman, wasn't he? Morrigan felt a little worried, though. She should never have left her amulet; Moresina would not be pleased. She carefully chose one of his vials, and put it in her pocket. She even felt the invisible soft thing.
She wasn't sure who this Lady Eilistraee was, but Morrigan was glad that Ares was helping her get less lost. She smiled brightly at his offer. "Oh. Why, thank you so much, kind Ares. Yes, I would like a body guard. This looks like a tough part of town for a woman to travel alone."
