Binding of the Shoes

[Shadow]

Shadow was roaming around the main gates of Avaren, Bored out of his mind. He and Chao had just recently returned from an amazing adventure in the ruins of Aesir, with tattered clothes and a bag of treasure.

The loot had already been stowed away in the hideout, and Shadow had repaired his cloak, his shoes, and his pants. However, he needed a different type of material to fix his shirt, and it wasn't available in the markets.

It wasn't available anywhere at the moment, for that matter. Especially since it only was workable on the night of a full moon, which just happened to be... tomorrow.

Shadow sighed in frustration and sat down, putting his head in his hands. His Fiery dragon-dog, Chao, appeared at his side and climbed up onto his favorite spot on shadow's shoulder. the creature was the size of a small fox, and was vividly orange.

"Gah... I'm so bored... I wish i could do some weaponry work or sparring with a partner or something..." Chao growled lightly as Shadow spoke, rubbing up against him and looking around.

[Kina]

Kina stared at the Main Gates. There was a man with a dragon-dog () sitting down. The man had his face in his hands and the dog was rubbing him.

His clothes were tattered, and judging by what he just said, waiting for the full moon to find material.

Suddenly, the dog looked at him, and he stared at it. Suddenly, he knew what to do. He walked away. Suddenly, it growled in a loud voice that made him jump. "OK, OK..." he muttered, and walked over to the mysterious tattered man.

"Uh...want to...fight?" Kina said, still staring at the dog, as if expecting it to pounce and eat his brains.

((How was that? I did God RPing with your dog though, sorry. ^_^))

[Shadow]

((not bad at all! but with the God rping, you really want to stay away from that. it's very bad for you, and if you start out doing it, you're gonna do it forever.

Shadow started, jumping to his feet and pulling out two kunai in his right hand and a knife in his left as he spun to face the potential threat. After sizing the boy up a bit, Shadow laughed and returned his weapons to his pocket. "A fight? Please, you don't stand a chance against me, or Chao here for that matter." Chao nodded in agreement.

Walking over to the young man, Shadow smiled and held out his hand. "the name's Shadow. Are you new around here or something? Because you seem to be a bit... green." Chao made a rumbling noise, and Shadow grew thoughtful.

Striking a pose, shadow launched his newest recrution tirade.

"say, with those weapons you have, it seems as if you want to be an assassin or something. Am I right?" before the yonug man could answer, shadow was running his mouth again. "Of course, I am. But I have a proposition to make. You happen to be staring at the leader of the Nightwalkers Guild, a loose albiet loyal collection of people who use the night to their advantage. It offers protection from a great many things, and there are people there, lke me, who can teach you to become a better... whatever you want to be. So how about it?"

Shadow cracked a grin. If Chao was right about this young man, then there was potential for a great ally, standing right in front of him. mentally, he crossed his fingers and hoped that the young man would accept the offer. All he had to do now was wait...

((sorry, it's a bit rushed. I started it then got wrapped up in a bunch of things, and forgot exactly where i was going with that. so sorry if it's confuzzling))

[Kina]

Kina grinned. "Well, an intriuging offer.............." he muttered, and thought about it for a long time. "Heh, you could kill me on the spot..." he said. "But nah, I won't take that chance, buddy." he grinned.

"Lead the way, Shadow." He shook his hand. "Oh, and by the way, I am an assasin." He thought about joining a guild. It sounded...exciting! He actually, after thinking about it more, wanted to join more. "Nightwaker's Guild...what do we do there?" he asked.

[Zero Kiriyuu †]

[ You don't mind if Zero pops in, don't you? ]

Zero Kiryuu scratched his head as he walked through the Grand Entrance again. He had went out to other places for awhile to get a new bow and fletch new arrows. His cape was a midnight glossy black with gold edges that flowed to his feet, along with a hood at the back. His bow was unstrung yet again, and is in a polished teak casing that was slung on his back, along with a quiver of arrows fletched with hawk feathers - for accuracy and speed.

Zero walked across the stone pavement of Avaren, his boots scraping over the stones. Then he heard someone talking at the other far end of the gates. Someone with a soft voice was speaking to... Kina...?

Zero hid behind a pillar quickly, and listened in with a blank look on his face (as always). His jewel like amethyst eyes shone in the moonlight. Nightwalker's Guild...?

"Lead the way, Shadow." He shook his hand. "Oh, and by the way, I am an assasin."

Zero slapped his forehead. WHO IN THE RIGHT MIND WILL TELL A PERSON THAT THEY JUST KNEW, MOREOVER A LEADER OF A CERTAIN GROUP OF PEOPLE THAT HE'S AN ASSASIN? That's just so lame! That guy must be a noob!

Then Zero calmed down. He thought for awhile. Though that guild DOES sound interesting. Maybe... I can get some information... out of that group. That man. Zero looked at the man with the firey dragon-dog and a red coat.

His amethyst eyes narrowed.

I'll follow them.

((not at all, not at all... Unfortunately, my activity is like nill.. my dad took my freaking internet away, and the weekends are my only time to use it. sorry. but i'll be as active as i can.))

Shadow cringed when the boy said his profession out loud. "i should smack you for that, foolish one. there are those about who hear that and get angry... and then you are in a world of trouble."

Shadow shook his head and laughed. "And dont worry, I was planning on leading the way... you have no clue where the guild is, or you'd already be there!" Chao's nostrils flared and he growled to Shadow.

Shadow smiled and looked up at the sky. "I know Chao, I know where the other one is. I'm surprised you didn't feel him sooner. I don't care what his motives are, so let him follow. If he causes a problem..." Shadow made a fist and one of his concealed knives flew out and stuck into the ground at his feet. "Let's just say he'll have a hell of a fight ahead of him. Let's go"

as they walked, Shadow pondered to himself. I know you are there, archer...your aura is too... different... and strong for me to not notice you... It's got a strange feel to it... like you aren't fully human... but you are a curiosity, and right now, not a threat, so i'll play along...

Chao looked back again at the hiding place of the archer, wondering why his master and companion didn't just end things before trouble started. Shadow turned back and called Chao, who obediently trotted after.

They were headed for the hideout, but halfway there, shadow stopped at a small stand and purchased a loaf of bread and a stack of papers that held the happenings about and around avaren that week.

[Zero Kiriyuu †]

Zero looked back at them and noticed the firey dog staring at him. They exchanged a few words and Zero sighed, scratching his head like a child. He smiled a little. "Can't be helped." Zero breathed to himself. He walked behind them, somewhat openly now. Why waste the strength to do something like hiding? Zero isn't bad by nature. He wouldn't kill - unless nessasary. He is a reasonable enough person.

And he wanted to side those two in front too. His bow could be put to good use. But not now. Hopefully he won't use it today, or the following day. Even though he's a master of the bow, he didn't like to use it except in range practices.

It was always a tough moment - the part where you let go of the string, aimed at something that is living.

[Kina]

"OK, why don't we kill that stalker behind us?" Kina whispered to Shadow. "He's been bothering me for quite some time now, especially when he was eavesdropping on our conversation." Shadow didn't say anything, but by his expression, he seemed not caring, as if playing along with the Archer.

"Foolish one..." Kina thought. "If you're going to follow us, you should conceal yourself." They've been walking for quite a long time now. The sun was setting, and Kina was getting hungry. "Hey, what's too eat?" Kina asked.

[Shadow]

Shadow smirked. the young one.. kina was it? was catching on. Shadow knew not to attack someone in broad daylight, that was just against the rules in every way. "no young one. We will wait until he follows us too far. then we shall either kill him.. or force him to join our cause. Also, if you're hungry, here." Shadow threw half of the loaf of bread that he had grabbed to Kina. "This is all you'll have until we go to the market place. Then I'll show you how to grab whole dinners, even from under the nose of the sheriff."

Shadow laughed and looked behind him. The archer was still there. Looking down at Chao, Shadow smiled. "Do not fret, my companion. he is not a bother -not yet, at least. We will deal with the strange one when the time comes."

[Zero Kiriyuu †]

Zero watched them without any hate or whatsoever. He didn't want to hurt them or anything, but he could hear perfectly what that Kina person said. Kill me? Not so easy, actually. Zero thought, looking to the side, giving a (>_>) look and scratching his nose as if trying to use his wrist to hide a small smile. He liked that man in red (no, not gay) but he took a liking to the way he dealt with things. He also somewhat liked that youngster. So rash, like all young people are.

Gawk.

A hawk gawked loudly in the night sky, its silver feathers the same shade as Zero's hair circled above him. Then he flew down and landed on Zero's gauntleted arm. Zero gave a sideways look at the hawk and the hawk did the same. "... you have no sense of secretiveness. You didn't have to gawk so loud." Zero said rather loudly and winked at his hawk.

"Say, gentlemen." Zero said loudly. "My Dark didn't catch anything for me tonight. Would you spare me some dry bread of yours?" His violet eyes gleamed innocently in the dark, along with his smooth, porcelain texture of his skin, and silver hair.

[Kina]

"Um, sure.." Kina said, tossing the loaf at the so-called stalker. Kina had lost his appetite for the day, although he was not sure why. The wind was picking up, and Kina's hair was blowing around everywhere. He put on a cloak he kept concealed and continued to wait for Shadow to make a move. He was looking at his pet.

[Zero Kiriyuu †]

Zero smiled. "Heh." He bowed formally and smiled again. "Thank you for your kindness." Zero said. Zero walked over to them and clinked, his amethyst eyes brightly shining in the dark. "Is there something wrong? Both of you look very tense?" Zero asked curiously, looking at the both of them. "Are you worried I might harm you? No... I won't." Zero sighed. "I understand that in this kingdom, you ought to be cautious. to say, in the beginning I was quite cautious of the two of you, but now, I think I could lower my guard down to talk to the both of you."

Napeir had been watching the group from above, one he knew, the other he wasn't very familiar with. Having been out of town for quite awhile he was spending most of his time trying to find friends, how ever many were left anyway. This one was a long time friend, and his guild leader. Shadow had been around for longer then he could remember, and he had hung out with him many times. Even taught him most of his trade. Scanning the area he timed his jump, he had to aim a time when he could get past Shadows "Hell Hound". Lunging from the top of the building he landed on Shadows back, his hands lightly landing on Shadows head. As he landed his Scythe made a clicking noise as the blades hit one another, Meglian was on his shoulder.
"'Hello Shadow....its been far too long" he said in a playful tone.
