"YES! I understand." Deadra said tersely, and a bit too loud. She was getting from started, but she forced herself to calm down. She knew how to handle herself. A very false, but pleasant smile appeared on her face. Daedra forced down her acid words and said in a adequate tone said, "Yes, I understand... your concerns and I will do all that I can. Now please..." She paused and in a heavier voice continued, "I believe our business is done for today".

The man from across the table sniffed, then retrieved a handkerchief from his pocket to finish the job. In a gruff, arrogant voice he said goodbye and left. He exited and the heavy wooden doors of the meeting hall closed behind him. The young ruler brought her hand to her forehead and left it rest there for a moment. She sighed and brought those fingers to her hairline and gave her scalp a quick scratch. It was getting almost out of hand. If she had to face another fat, pompous pig about how 'those magicals' were causing trouble, she was going to scream. Daedra stood, resting her weight on the desk in front of her.

The doors opened again, and her bright blue eyes lanced up but only for a moment. It was just an assistant. He was dressed nice and an older gentleman. She guessed he was rather handsome in his younger years. He approached her and in a clear musical voice reminded Daedra of her lunch engagement. This afternoon she was to dine with Aankin. The co-ruler of Avaren, she knew that some how they were related but it didn't really matter. They had only known each other for a short period of time. She didn't like or dislike him... it was an indiference really.

Daedra sat silently in the waiting for Aankin with a book in her hands. She was dressed nicely with a white dress on. It had a high neck and long sleeves, all covered in lace with a long skirt. She didn't feel it was really her style, but it made her look pure and elegant.... which wasn't bad. She turned the page but paused. She hated it when people stared at her, it was the handsome assistant. She knew it didn't do it to bug her, he was a devoted man but... she was really annoyed. She cleared her throat and with a plain expression asked him, "Olee, could you see what is holding up Aankin, I am starving"
"Very well." he said obidently and left through the far doors.
She returned to her book. It was a hard cover canvas book and it wasn't very exciting. But it gave her something to do.

Aankin had, quite frankly, slept in. A bit too much perhaps. The disturbing events of the night before were still fresh in his mind, and thus he'd been having odd dreams all night... and all morning... and part of the afternoon... Not a very Kingly thing to do, perhaps, but still, he was tired.

He was having an odd dream about a giant enemy crab when the man came in to retrieve him. He mumbled a bit as he was talked at, something about lunch with the Queen? He quite sluggishly got up and dressed himself, slipping a hand through his hair when he was done and rubbing his eyes.

"Lunch? So early in the morning?"

Nevermind the fact that the sun was high in the sky at this point.

Eventually he was ready and followed the odd man to the eating area.

He wasn't dressed terribly 'royally' at the moment, but it wasn't that bad either. Just a cleaner and fancier shirt than usual, same bland gray color. His messy hair did not fit the scene at all, but he could truly care less. Besides, the Queen wouldn't care, would she? What if she did? He had yet to truly form an opinion on the Queen. They hadn't talked all that much.

Finally he arrived where he was expected and sat down after a somewhat respectful and tentative nod towards the queen. "Good morning....... Your... highness?" The last word started to arc into a question; He wasn't sure if he was supposed to be polite to her or not. They were both fairly new at this ruling game, after all..

She heard Aankin enter the hall, but she didn't look up until he address. Her referred to her as 'your highness' and she answered with a hard look. It wasn't angry or meant to scold him.... it was just tense. She wasn't sure if that was alright, there were both at the same level. After a moment she exhaled and a tight smiled tugged at her pink lips. "Good... afternoon an--and I don't, you can just call me Daedra, I think", he jumbled sentence made her feel like a dope and her cheeks reddened slightly. Daedra closed her book and set it beside her. She stood, smoothed her skirt and nodded at Aankin.

Olee lead the way the the dinning area. It was all fine china and excellent silverware. All the elegance and pamper that seemed to come with the royalty position made Daedra a little uncomfortable. If she broke something it could be replaced, but it was all the strict order of everything. She glanced over at her great nephew and couldn't help but be a little envious. His tousled hair and plain clothing could turn her blue eyes green. Almost every time she tried to leave he room in some 'unseemly' attire she was ushered back to change. It was dreadful.

Daedra took at seat at the table. She wasn't in the main dining hall, but a cozy little luncheon room. The table was round but large enough to fit at least eight people and it was next to a large window. The curtain were drawn and the evening light made the room peaceful. After a moment some servants came with food of all kinds, the Queen and King's special. Which was just a random assortment of Aankin and Daedra's favorite foods. She took a drink of her apple cider and looked up to her companion. "Aankin," she called gently, "Did you sleep well?"

Daedra knew that talking would be awkward at first, and they were scheduled to have meetings like this... but she did want to like him. If she was going to try and build a relationship with the man... she had to be honestly. Daedra quickly added on to her question, "I just wondered because you look... a little messy". She hoped that she hadn't offended him. She brought her finger to her bottom lips and held there, it was sort of a nervous habit.
